Mistakes to Avoid for Your Car Rental Uganda?
There is a saying that mistakes are common to every human being but sometimes when one makes the same mistake over and over it becomes a habit. We could not like the traveler to make the following mistakes for his or her car rental Uganda as it is most likely to put him ore her in trouble thus ending up paying a heavy price. This article is more a life saver for travelers out there, please read and learn how to go about the mistakes to avoid for your car rental Uganda.
Forget to inspect the car’s condition
When the rental car is delivered to the client, he/she should check it thoroughly for the dents, scratches and other mechanical faults that may be on it. However, some people forget to check the condition of the vehicle and car hire companies blame them for the damages that already existed before the client took up the car. In this situation, the client ends up paying unnecessary bills. It is recommendable to check the vehicle with the delivery guy and also take photos of the car before embarking on your journey.
Don’t read the terms and conditions of the car rental agreement carefully
This is a very common mistake among very many car rental clients in Uganda as they do not read the terms and conditions carefully. They tend to be very anxious and excited on booking a rental car and forget to read the clauses in the agreement. Car rental agreement clauses are very tricky when violated they can lead to a client paying lots of money. Some of the tricky clauses are fuel refill, early return, and unlimited mileage. So the renter has to be careful as he/she is given this black and white paper, ensure to read and understand each and every term and condition in it.
Don’t clean up the rental car after using it
Travelers tend to leave vehicles dirty after using them but this is not a good gesture. It is recommendable to return the rental car as clean as it was picked up. Remember when driving the car, you traverse and drive through dirty and dusty areas. Some of the travelers also eat from the car leaving the leftovers, containers and bottle in it. This always makes the car messy. It would be so wonderful and humbling at the time of returning the car, the traveler stops at the washing bay to get rid of the mess and also clean the vehicle.
Don’t use the Internet to look for best deals
Some people do not use the internet to search for car rental services, all they do is go to a colleague only or just walk into a random office of a car rental company on the streets. This is a very dangerous act; it may not be your lucky day. And you do business with an incompetent company that will ruin your car rental experience by charging you highly or at times offering substandard services. There are very many car rental companies found on the internet with very good services at affordable prices. Also on the internet, you have a wide range of choices to choose from.
In addition to the above, one should also not over rely on the internet as you have to take an extra mile and get offline to look for car rental services. This can be done by asking a colleague that has ever traveled to the destination where you will be taking your next trip. One has also to contact them through telephone or email to build a good rapport between the renter and the car rental company thus getting the car hire services at a relatively lower price.

Planning a family trip to Uganda? Ranked as one of the best destinations to visit on continent Africa with lots of things to see and do such as gorilla trekking, mountaineering, biking, boat cruises, game drive, and many more. But, before visiting the country with your family, below are some of the things you should think of before setting off to the beautiful country.
It is not an easy task to have a family travel plan when you have infants and young children.
By the time you have everything in place and finally board one of the many jets in the airport, you are beyond needing a vacation.
You certainly don’t want to have a stressful vacation and by choosing family-friendly charter flights, activities the entire family can enjoy, and quality accommodations, you can arrive home actually feeling relaxed and ready to take on the world.
Transportation
When you have infants, toddlers, or young children, flights on commercial jets can often be a difficult situation.
Most of the children can’t move around without disturbing others on the flight and the lack of space makes it almost impossible to feed an infant.
Even worse, you are likely going to be stuck in the middle of a row of strangers, making it a real pain to get your children in and out to go to the bathroom. The kids will get out of their routine, get grumpy, and the situation gets nasty in a hurry.
Charter flights are the perfect solution for young families. If you choose wisely, hiring jets gives you the opportunity to book charter flights that match your needs while still fitting into your vacation.
You and the rest of your family will find the ride is more enjoyable with the extra space.
When you do book your outgoing and return jets, make sure you find out what conveniences they have on board.
This will allow you to prepare for the trip because you know if you need to bring food and snacks and will be certain they have some way of heating bottles.
It is also a good idea to ensure the transportation of your luggage is taken care of by the airline. Lastly, see if there is a play area in case the charter flights are delayed.
For those who plan on having a self-drive safari, there are many car rental Uganda companies ready to get you a reliable car that suits your family. But, please if you are to have the best out of your road trip, the best car for your safari is a 4×4 for off the bitten tracks.
Activities and Things to Do
If you do decide to have a family travel plan you need to know your vacation activities, consider making a list of all the things you would like to do.
Include a number of different kinds of activities like for example a week-long vacation, consider having one or two afternoon tours, some shopping, your favorite sightseeing locations, fun your children will enjoy, and a relaxing walk.
One of the most common mistakes families make is overfilling their vacation plans with structured activities such as day tours.
You can still include some of these time-specific activities, but be sure not to go overboard. Leaving your plans more spontaneous will allow you to customize your activities to meet the needs and moods of your children.
When choosing the things to do on your safari in Uganda, think of activities that do not restrict any family member for example, if you are to go gorilla trekking, make sure that all the family members are above the age of 15. So for those who have little ones, you will have to think wisely about activities that suit your people such as game drives, simple hikes, boat cruises, and cultural tours.
Accommodations
You may ask the hotel staff about the extras they offer and what they have available to make your stay easier when deciding where you will stay during your vacation. If they have cribs or playpens available, then you will have one less item to lug around. Try to get a room on a quiet end of the hotel or ask for a room on the ground floor if you have a toddler.
Whether you are heading to Kampala or Bwindi impenetrable forest national park in Uganda a family travel plan will make your vacation feel a lot more like a holiday and a lot less like work. After all, that is the entire point of the trip.

Why Hire a Car from Uganda Car Rental Agencies
Looking to traveling Uganda? Are you some one interested in traveling independently while in Uganda? If yes, car rental agencies are the best match for your travel needs. Though the concept of traveling using a rental car in Uganda is relatively unpopular, those who have tried to take either a guided tour or a self drive in Uganda continue posting positive reviews on car hire in Uganda;
- A warm welcome from the staff to the country. That’s the greeting you can also get from a website when you are surprisingly on the opposite of the car rental industry. You actually realize that there is a huge gap in what suppliers know to what clients actually know.
- It is a surprise that many clients try to find the lowest rate possible, but in most cases it’s not the “real deal” that the clients negotiate for, what is evident in car rental is most certainly not what one gets. Most websites say no hidden costs but when costs are added up, you actually paying more for your rental that you thought.
- So you get to task about this and look a bit deeper, you ask the first company if their rate includes VAT and if they have a claim handling fee, if they their rate actually doesn’t include VAT but the extra’s do not?
- So that make you think even more, over a five day period you will have lost a bigger amount of money, now imagine if the car group was bigger or my rental 25 days. As clients we see a daily rate and think wow that’s low, but all Uganda Car rentals have a set amount that they can sell out at in order to be productive. If you looked close enough you would have noticed that you are paying more for the same group of car but the engine sizes differed, you re actually going to pay more for a car that cost less to buy.
- Clever marketing?, Not really for you at this stage, when you enter an agreement with a client, it should be transparent and the client should know all charges before he/she pays for that car. It’s the honest way to do business.
- Another point of your concern is the fact that the first company wants payment in advance while the second one when you collect the car, is it because they are not transparent and want your money upfront so you do not search anymore? Or is it to inject cash into their company to increase their buying power so they can get better deal, if its the latter then your pretty sure these deals are not been filtered through to clients.
- So ultimately how do you find a good company and how do you know that they are reputable?
Simple: always and i mean always check the competition out, never look at your rate per day and think it’s cheap, always add all costs up, this includes worst case scenario, ask question about what happens when you involved in an accident, and lastly make sure that the consultant you deal with cares more about your needs than making a buck
Take care and happy car rental hunting
